Kristina Tuesday Werner, DNP, AGACNP, FNP-BC, AF-AASLD, is an advanced practice provider in Transplant Medicine, specializing in hepatology at Mayo Clinic Arizona in Phoenix. She has been part of the Division of Hepatology since 2000, and she was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine in 2013.
Dr. Werner earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Arizona State University in 2007, where her doctoral work included a thesis on the effectiveness of combining behavior modification with diet and exercise in patients with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). She holds board certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and in Adult-Geriatric Acute Care (AGACNP) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Her clinical and academic roles include mentoring nurse practitioner and physician assistant students, participating as advisory faculty, and speaking nationally within gastroenterology/hepatology advanced practice provider groups. She completed a formal fellowship in transplant hepatology and is an Associate Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AF-AASLD).
